5 Ways to Let Intuition Guide Your Business

When you bring your intuition into business, you can’t go wrong. You will be more confident in your decisions and choose what aligns best with you because you will have trusted the voice within.

Intuition means having a clear, direct knowing without needing more information. In other words, it’s an internal understanding of what does and doesn’t jive well as you’re presented with it.

The problem is that we tend to stifle our inner voice by questioning or not listening to it, leading us away from the paths truly meant for us.

Here are a few ways to tap into your intuition to benefit your business.

1. Protect your purpose

This goes back to finding the “why” behind what you do. You will succeed when you have a vision that drives you. When you know what you are passionate about, you can honor intuitive opportunities that bring you closer to what you want.

2. Be OK saying “no”

It’s inevitable to face potential deals, partners or clients you don’t feel good about. You may feel urged to move forward to alleviate awkwardness or uncertainty. When this happens, you tend to pay for it one way or another. Be firm about your “no” when it’s not the right fit.

3. Find stillness

You must be able to hear your intuition when it’s talking, and that’s done by unplugging from distractions. Consider trying meditation, taking a walk in the woods, or simply sitting quietly at some points in the day. Self-awareness is key to deciphering internal messages.

4. Document your intuition

Another way to understand intuitive thoughts as they arise is by jotting them down; journal how it felt to receive this information, where it showed up, and the response. This practice will help train you to trust when intuition reveals itself to you.

5. Silence the inner critic

Whenever your inner critic acts up, it’s an attempt to protect you from something. The next time that inner critic arises, respond with curiosity. What risk is it trying to keep you from taking? Why is it fearful? When you understand these answers, you can quiet the inner critic and let your intuitive voice shine through.
